There was at least one dead house in Byker, in Newcastle upon Tyne. It stood beside the River Police Station at the mouth of the Ouseburn. The police used this dead house to lay out bodies fished from the river. The 1883 Kelly’s Directory also lists a Tyne Water Police Station at St Lawrence, which also had a dead house. The Imperial House is described as “among the finest, most desirable white glove co-operatives combining elegance and service” by realtors. Things certainly pick up once the basement dwellers throw down their shackles and start trying to eat everyone. Clearly a film with a low budget, Dead House still manages to have some impressive and gruesome prosthetics. And as the film winds up, there’s some good old-fashioned carnage to enjoy. Dr. Lansing also believes that Kaitlyn is not the true personality and that Carly created her as a coping mechanism, although Kaitlyn insists that she is real and existed before their parents' deaths. It’s not long before the film’s pessimism kicks in and we’re all reminded of how terrible human beings are. Just watch how quickly, and without warrant, everyone in Dead House becomes an unbelievable turd by the time the credits roll. Well, to be fair, two of them manage to maintain their innocence, but they end up dead, so what use is that to them now?
That night Kaitlyn accidentally kills John while trying to break up a fight between him and Ari. Though saddened by John's death, Kaitlyn notices that things appear to be calming down. She also realizes that the dead girl she had been seeing was trying to assist her rather than menace her. Kaitlyn also believes that she has a way to reunite herself with Carly and resolves to find her regardless of the cost. Carly/Kaitlyn is sent to Elmbridge where Carly makes friends with a spiritual girl named Naida. Naida believes that both personalities are real and that they're two souls in one body.
